I joined SZ on 11/11/10, And it was the best belated birthday gift I have ever given myself ^^

SZ really impacted my life. Before, I was controlled by my parents and shaped in their way: a douchey, ignorant, bastard. I was too scared to be myself because I knew they would not approve. I hated those who weren’t heterosexual even though i knew I liked boys. I was self harming by smashing my head against anything hard, even walls. I was always scared to make friends, so video games kept me company until 7th grade. Honestly, the way I was back then, you would all want to slap me, and not even be near me. I don’t blame you, I would judge you, the friends I have now I wouldn’t even approach because of the mentality I had. I was suicidal since I was 6 or 8, after I realized how many others were on sz struggling more, and the kind accepting people…I knew there was hope ^^ So I gave up on suicide, just to see where life will take me, if I will meet any of you.
In a year, SZ helped me realize who I am, and not to be afraid of that. I also was able to more or less cast away the monster I was.

I wont lie, sz reminded me what a blade was, but better for blood to trickle then a brain ooze out. I’m really grateful I joined ^^ It gave me some sanity, and more importantly-my identity
