    Meh….you gues do realize you are hating the wrong person…He gave the orders, yeah sure, however it was the SS soldiers who did he killing, it was the SS who shot with their rifles and guns, murdering the Jews, homosexuals (mostly gays), political rivals, political opposing people, and the list goes on.

    People, such as Heinrich Himmler, the leader of the SS, who started off with the idea of mass graves (literally…holes where they placed the Jews, shot them and then buried them (if not alive)) and came up with the idea of the gas chambers.

    Or Josef Mengele (honestly…look him up on Wikipedia.com, and read about him), who tortured Jew twins to test the ‘theory’ that the twins had links between each other so they could feel if the other was pain, inserted dangerous chemicals into people’s eyes, either killing them or making them blind, and what for? He wanted to make their eyes blue!

    Joseph Stalin, Kim Jong-il, Adolf Hitler, Julius Ceasar, even Benito Mussolini, are people who has carved their way into history, nearly every child in Europe knows about these people, but we must also that despite them being great dictators, dangerous leaders, or monsters/threats to humanity these Great Men we know off all started off as men, simple men, born and raised.

    My point of my post, if you haven’t seen/figured it out: History is like a coin. There is always the other side, there’s always something that you didn’t expect, for example:
    Adolf Hitler was an animal lover, he passed down a law which prohibited hunting in Germany, and it is also a belief that he was a vegetarian.

    I miss the intellect, not the Nazism. The world is a better place with Hitler dead; it’s just still a bad place.

    Amelie

    @Ichor: yeah right, animal lover…and vegetarian. Are you trying to say that vegetarian and animal lover can’t be evil?? Plus, if you don’t know, he killed his dog Blondi by trying the suicide pill he was going to use to Blondi first just to see whether it would work. If that wasn’t cowardice, I don’t know what that was.

    Don’t hate… I wasn’t old enough when Hitler was alive. And right now I’m living in Germany…. But yeah it was the Nazis who did all of that, not Hitler.

    If people liked him, they can like him… But truely… I’m sort of like Hitler.

    When Hitler was younger his father was a Jew. But Hitler was a Christian… His father was a terrible terrible person. He abused adolf and hitler mother.

    His mom died when he was a teenager, so he was depressed while he was growing up.

    When he was older he wanted to be an artist (he was very good) but the university of arts wouldn’t let him join. And Hitler thought because the council administration was half Jewish.
    That’s when he started to hate Jews

    So he took over Germany?! So what he had a terrible and heart breaking childhood, his mother died!

    I wish Hitler was still here

    Okay, maybe this has more of a meaning you guys.

    HITLER WAS A MONSTER. DID ANY OF YOU WHO MADE A COMMENT ON BEHALF OF HITLER, SEE THE MOVIE SCHINDLER’S LIST, OR THE PIANIST. DID YOU SEE THE PAIN AND SUFFERING HE CAUSED THESE PEOPLE. HOW CAN ANYONE THINK HITLER WAS GOOD. HE WAS EVIL. HE NOT ONLY KILLED JEWS, BUT PEOPLE WHO SUFFERED MENTAL ILLNESS, DOWN’S SYNDROME, ETC. 55 MILLION PEOPLE WERE KILLED DURING WORLD WAR 2. HOW IS THAT GOOD? HITLER LOVERS WATCH THE MOVIES SCHINDLER’S LIST, AND THE PIANIST. READ THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. THEN TELL ME IF YOU THINK HITLER WAS SO GREAT.

    To Ichor: I agree, there is always another side.
    To all the hitler-haters: none of you knew hitler, none of you know exactly what he was thinking, feeling, what he had been through, or why he was doing what he was doing. He may have been mentally ill. You don’t UNDERSTAND, therefore you have no right to JUDGE.
    To all the hitler-fans: Hey, he killed people. He may or may not have been evil, but he was just a man at the end of the day. He deserves no more respect than any of us.
    And to Disappointed, on the matter of Hitler being an animal lover not mattering: I’d much rather kill off a load of humans than kill animals. Humans as a race are assholes. A lot of them deserve to be killed. I’d respect him more for being an animal lover than I would if he hadn’t caused the murder of millions of people.

    much love

    Woah, talk about getting out of hand. Hitler was no doubt an evil man but the blame of all his ‘evil ways’ cannot be placed upon him – he started it, but it was the people who acted upon it. If everyone is looking for someone to blame for the death of millions look to the people who gave Hitler his power. Nothing would have happened if people weren’t sheep and in desperate need of a confident leader who just proposed ideas; the people did it and in some cases they are worse than he was – did they DO anything to stop all that was happening? No.

    So before everyone hates the people who think Hitler was a great man in history look behind it at who made it possible. He wanted to make the world better, and by his thoughts that’s what he did.

    Hitler was deranged. literally, he was twisted and a pathological liar. Anyone ever actually READ Mein Kampf? Within the first ten pages you can see that he believed all of his own lies, such as the fact that he erased his number on his member card of The German Workers party from 555 to 7. He actually believed that he was an original founder of the organization, even though the REAL founder says he wasn’t even close to being an original member.

    i cant believe how many people wish hitler was still alive.
    this is sick. absolutely sick. yeah, hitler didn’t kill all those innocent people with his own hands…that’s true.
    but it’s his fault definitely. i can’t believe that so many people just ignore the suffering and the pain and the unbelievable cruelty in world war 2.
    of course hitler had have a hard childhood, but that’s no excuse for the things he did. we all have a choice and only because my dad hit my mom and left my family and i haven’t heard anything from him for years…and only because there were a lot boys which hurt me and broke my heart…that doesn’t mean i’m gonna kill all men, just because i think they might be all bastards.

    hitler was evil and sick. the things he did are inexcusable.

  •
    anon.

    hitler was sick.
    he abused the fragile, naive minds of young kids and turned them against their parents. he ordered the deaths of thousands of innocent people who weren’t who he wanted the world to be.
    he was everything that is wrong with the world today. he was selfish. he wanted the world to be what he thought to be perfect. all he did was destroy the lives of people who had done nothing wrong.
    he doesn’t deserve to be missed.

    Lambxo

    oh wow. ok whoever says blame the soldiers not hitler is an IDIOT. BLAME THEM ALL!! Hitler ORDERED the soldiers to do it, and the soldiers did it. He was in a position of authority, thus responsibility. He took millions of lives by that authority through the weakness and fear and corruption of others. they are all to blame. Genius is not far above madness, and this guy stepped right off that bridge.

    Everyone is going to just keep on arguing.
    This human race is quite a mess, and no one person has the right to judge, because whether anyone likes it or not, we are all the same.

    This quote is from one of my favorite books.
    “I stopped believing there was a power of good and a power of evil that were outside us. And I came to believe that good and evil are names for what people do, not for what they are….People are to complicated to have simple labels.”

    You cannot simply call the man evil. I’m half-jewish. But I don’t find any of this offensive. My great grandmother ran away from Europe, and I’m not saying it was pointless. I’m saying, more and more people are dying out that were around then. Soon it will be just history, and while the world may not forget about it, it will soon be just another page in a history book. Sad to say.
    People are to complicated to have simple labels.
    He might have done good thing. That doesn’t make him good. He might have done bad things. That doesn’t make him Evil.
    No one knows what he went through but him. Everyone deals with different things, in different ways.

    Also, keep in mind, this is someones secret. Please be respectful.

    He ordered the murder of 6 million Jews and homosexuals, and people are DEFENDING him? Saying that he didn’t do the killing, the Nazis and Heinrich Himmler did? Hitler was no better than Dr. Mengele, who was UNDER HIS ORDERS! Hitler wanted all of that, and more to happen, he was just too much of a coward to physically do it himself.

    Sorry, but Hitler can burn in Hell as far as I’m concerned.

  •
    Ichor

    @ Amelie
    No, I’m simply stating things which people would never have expected from Hitler.
    Besides, Hitler wasn’t educated in Chemistry, so he didn’t know about if the pill really was going to kill him or not, so in order to be on the safe side he tested it on his dog.

    Also, how can you call it evil when what he believed was good? How can you call it madness when the ‘madman’ sees it as science?
    ‘Evil’ is a poor term for describing him, or any other past/current dictator the world has seen. Many of the Nazis (NOT German citizens) believed that Hitler was correct and they saw it as the right thing to systematically murder the Jews, why? It was like redeeming themselves for having lost WWI, for everyone (back then) believed that it was the Jews and Communists who were responsible for Germany’s loss.

    I’m not saying he was a coward, I’m saying he did what he believed was right, and none can judge that being wrong. None can or ever will.

    @Disappointed
    He didn’t kill them, he gave the orders, and orders are only words, not physical or mental harm, it was the SS Officers who pulled the trigger, it was them who had the Jews to line up and shot, it was the Himmler who had the idea of mass graves and the gas chambers.

    Hitler possible did cause violence before he came to power (that I won’t argue) but to say he killed people when he came to power…hmm…I would be strongly skeptical against that.

    @Sylvia
    I agree, he was a charismatic man, especially during the Great Depression and when the people were against the Treaty of Versailles.
    I think that if he didn’t have the burning hatred for the Jews and still came to power, Germany would possibly have been at the strength of America, Britain or France, for if we look at Germany today, it is still a world power.

    @Jane
    Thanks you for your support, and I can only agree.
    The human race is the only race that can be so cruel to each other, no other animal can do such cruelty such as the holocaust, the acts that the Red Army did to the capitalists.

    Again, I must stress what you said, “If you don’t UNDERSTAND, you can’t JUDGE”.
    That is one of the reasons for why I fine History a great subject (supposing you have a good teacher).

    @hannah
    Sorry for the offensive statement but really…are you 12?! You obviously don’t know anything about the holocaust or about WWII and its multiple sides?
    Read about how the great depression was, read about how Weimar Germany was created and how the government was structured and you will get a small understanding of why certain events happened.

    History is a big topic, and even in the IB course, 2 years isn’t enough to study WWII, it is simply too big of a topic and has too many sides and causes happening in it.

    @Lambxo
    Alright…first of all, the soldiers could have chosen not to have done it, they did December 1914, where there was a football match between the French, British and Germans in the MIDDLE of WWI!!!! Alright, the officers couldn’t do anything, and the generals were powerless while the soldiers were celebrating Christmas with each other.

    also, the Germans had it beaten into their heads by propaganda, by their superiors to obey whatever order they were given, and when you say ’soldiers’ you better mean the SS, for if you mean the soldiers in the front line there is something completely different going on, for they fought for survival while the SS killed to kill.

    @EVERYONE
    It wasn’t just the Jews who were killed, it was also the Gypsies, the homosexuals, and political opponents, alright!
    In fact, I’m really tired of everyone whining about millions of Jews being slaughtered in those Death Camps, there were other people, alright? There were other people than the Jews who were murdered, so stop your whining. How are the Jews in Israel treating the Arabs and the Palestinians now? Same shit man, same shit.

    That, ladies and gentlemen, is history. Learn it, know it, love it.

    Hitler may have not killed all those millions of people with his own hands, but he may as well have. If it wasn’t for his orders, innocent lives would have been saved. millions of people have bad childhoods, but that doesn’t mean they have to become murderers.

  •
    Hitler is evil... Fact

    K is right, it doesnt matter if he didnt kill him with his own hands he is still and evil, life ruining man!
    Fact!

  •
    B

    Everyone here is moaning about how awful it is.

    And @ K. Actually your pretty much wrong. You look at the statistics of people who become mass murderers and most either have a head injury that triggers something in their brain (emotional detachment to their victims for example) . Sometimes vital areas in their brain are underactive or missing completely or they had a typical childhood where they faced constant abuse from a young age. This creates their personality from a young age-they tourture animals, pyromaniacs, some develop an obsession with power. They grow up and don’t know any better because they always thought it was normal. And the rest the comit mass murder-well they usually have an illness such as bipolar etc…

    What about the people who pulled the triggers?
    The people who gave hitler all the ideas?
    The people from all the other countries who stood by and let it happen?

    Pathetic that you would blame so many deaths on one person.

    The entire world pulled the trigger when they didnt do anything about it. The condemmed all those people to death for not having the guts to stand up and say something.

    My initial thoughts to this post were…’what.’

    But then I looked closely at the picture, and a thought hit me. Hitler, was just a man. He was born, grew, ate, grew, and died. Like all of us. But what’s scary is that this man had something inside him, to generate all of these ideas and to actually allow him to achieve the post he was at. Hitler was NOT a stupid man. Deluded, maybe, but most certianly not stupid. He had an opinion, and he wasn’t afraid to voice it. He had the brains, and wasn’t afraid to use it. Combined, he made a great leader with some not so great plans.

    However.

    I wish to pose a question to…well everybody really…
    Do you miss Saddam Hussein?

  •
    Wanderer

    The world is better with Hitler dead, in my opinion. Still, allow me to make a point.

    “Good” and “evil” are just points of view. What one person sees as good, the other side will see as evil and vice versa. Hitler did a lot of good things but it is all overshadowed by the more famous murders.

    I wonder how many people on here who blindly hate Hitler support their own governments and their own ancestries. Look back along the history of your own countries and you will find evil on the same scale as Hitler, just that from one point of view it is seen as good.

    History is written by the winners. Always remember that. The world is not black and white and neither are people. Everyone is a shade of grey and no matter how much white or black you try and add to the grey, it will always stay grey.

    Warning, the following contexts contains swearing and references that some readers may find offensive.

    @Anonymous (Jewish Guy/girl).

    Alright, so you have gay friends, some are black and you know people who are less developed as the rest of the population but here’s the thing…I honestly don’t care.
    Yes, the holocaust was aimed at Jews, blacks, gays, disabled and the list goes on, but in case you haven’t done your math, this was over 60 years ago, you’re alive, so why are you even complaining? History is History, you’ll never be able to change it, you never will, so quit whining.

    He died of suicide, as it was hard for the Allies to come to Berlin, due to the distance between Normandy and Germany, and the Russians were fighting against the Germans (whom at the time were highly advanced in weaponry, whereas the Russians had the advance of quantity).

    Well, you can wish all you want, personally, I haven’t placed any of my faith in a religion where there is something like ‘hell’ and ‘heaven’, what’s the point when there are laws which humans breaks daily, such as lying…who hasn’t lied these days? Who hasn’t stolen these days?
    I believe in Karma (what comes around, goes around) as it bring a lot of positive energy to me and the people around me, and you can make a lot of good friend with such a belief.

    @Anonymous (started off with ‘WTF’)

    I mentioned that he was an animal lover because so few people know it. There isn’t just pure evil to him, in fact there is no such thing as 100% true evil either, he was a good man (from the German point of view, during those days).

    I’m not saying it is to make up for what he ORDERED done, in fact, if some of you read the letters that he wrote to the SS leaders, his orders were often vague and they had to guess what he meant, sometimes they simply did the usual genocide, while others had other ideas in mind.

    @ c

    True, it was his visions, and his ideas that got it started, but where did he get them from? He wasn’t born with these ideas, they developed as time passed, after WWI most of the German soldiers, officers and generals felt that they had been back stabbed by the government, and it is possible that Hitler felt the same, and from there it slowly grew stronger and stronger till he was appointed chancellor of Germany and from there I’m sure we all know about what happened.

    Well, the Neo-Nazis are people who we could start off with, they might miss him, while we must also remember that he did do certain good things for Germany while he was in power.
    -he got them out of the Great Depression
    -He gave the German people jobs again
    -He got rid of the Treaty of Versailles (which almost every German hated at the time).
    -He restored the army of Germany
    -Reduced the taxes so that everyone could afford a car
    -He made high ways through Germany, showing the power of Germany
    -Demonstrated Germany’s power in the 1936 Olympics

    So, he wasn’t that entirely bad, okay?

    Yes, it can be placed like that in every war, Mr. ‘c’. The soldiers are the one who does the killing, looting and destruction of other armies, families and nations, so why should this be any exception? Can you even put yourself in the time period we’re in here? 1933 and forward to 1939? It was a lot more different than today, 2009, my friend, a hole lot different.

    As for those who’re still affected by this war are slowing dying out. They have had to be over 60 by now, and thus haven’t got much life left (no offense meant, it is a simple fact).

    @jessica

    Read the other posts…honestly, there is more to this than the surface.

    @Zoe

    The first WWI was over, everyone was weak like hell man…millions of people had died during that war, and it was getting much, much worse in Europe…The rural lands had almost been blasted useless, and then the wall street crash happened.
    Also, Germany had secretly send men over to the USSR and had them trained in there and then send back, so even if the nations had banded together, they would have way too weak to have invaded Germany, heck, America didn’t care at the moment, all they wanted was to have France and Britain to pay their debts to them, and they only helped Germany to recover from the High Inflation during the 1920s so France and Britain could pay them back.

    Read your history before he got to power and you’ll see.

    Also, Iraq is NOTHING like Germany during WWII. I repeat. Nothing, like Germany. The war there doesn’t have a cause anymore. What are they even fighting for down there anyways? Democracy? Why that? Can’t they govern how they want to live, how come the U.S has to suddenly decide that the entire world has to be democratic, look at China, it’s a Republic, not a democracy, has anyone gone against them? No. Will anyone? Never.

    Anyways, 9/11 was indeed a horrible day, I understand the US went to war because of that, what I don’t get is that, now that they have killed the man responsible behind the attack, along with many others, so why continue? You don’t have to invade Iraq and the middle east, they aren’t all Al-Qaida members. I have a lot of Muslim friends, I have friends who have lived in the middle east, and even more who has traveled through the countries, and they all say that they are more friendly than the Western Nations. Really.

    Anyways, back to the main point. You’re correct with him being paranoid, however he wasn’t like that all the time, remember that.

    @Al

    Thank you.

    @Angel of Death

    You are correct. That is how you study history. It’s like a coin, there’s more to it than what the surface shows.

    @Wanderer

    You are correct, it is, in fact, a shame that everyone only remembers the negative things about Hitler. Yes he did do a lot of bad things, however he also did a lot of good things for the Germans, even when the Jews were moved to the ghettos and being killed in the large numbers, the Germans were enjoying the many benefits from new businesses, better payment, and feeling the pride from coming from a strong nation.

    “History is written by winners” is the fact that I hate the most, as you only see the one side of action, never the other side as if it was them who were evil all along.

    “veryone is a shade of grey and no matter how much white or black you try and add to the grey, it will always stay grey.”

    Mate, I’ll raise a toast for that, for it is so true, and very philosophical, if you ask me. Cheers!

    @ ichor… oh hey saddam wasn’t responsible for 9/11; bin laden is. the reasons for entering iraq are completely different from the afghanistan occupation. for such a history buff, you’d think you would know that

  •
    Ichor

    @ray

    I’m not God, which I’m glad for, so I don’t know everything. I was how old when 9/11 happened?…about 10, alright, for me it was nothing which I really cared about, nor have I followed much along in the war in Iraq.
    So far, my ‘history’ is from the 11th century to the 13th century.
    And then from 1914-1945, m’kay?

    Just a quick question everyone, has anyone ever heard the quote: “If you understand the past, you can control the present, if you understand the present, you can control the future.”
    I mean, it makes sense, Europe and America has learned a bit from the two World Wars there has been, so, technically, the second world war was a good thing (if you look at it from that point of view).

    Anyways, cheers.

    @Ichor

    I have always been fascinated by ‘the other side’ of history’s evils. Look at the war in Iraq, for a current view. The vast majority of the public will believe the “Coalition of the Willing” are doing good in the middle east whereas a lot of people who live in the Middle East will disagree. I know Iraq is certainly an immensely worse place to live now that Saddam Hussein is dead, if you’re gay that is. Gays were left at peace, for the most part, while Hussein was in power. I doubt he approved of homosexuality but he certainly didn’t seem to particularly care. Now he is gone and there is so much chaos in the country, some men are taking it upon themselves to hunt out the gays. What a lot of people fail to realise is that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I am applying that in a more philosophical rather than physical sense here, but the principle remains true.

    Turn back to WWII when people are talking about the Final Solution. Yes, it is a terribly evil idea to want to wipe out the Jews/gays/gypsies/blacks/whatever just for something they couldn’t help. Well, the poor CIVILIANS of Nagasaki and Hiroshima couldn’t help the fact they were born Japanese. Surely they didn’t deserve to be obliterated by atomic bombs?

    People here cannot pick and choose. If you wish to hate one side for the atrocities they committed, you must equally hate the other side lest you be revealed as the hypocrtites you are. The first casualty of war is always the truth. There is no such thing as the good side of a war and nobody is innocent.

    you who writes these long comments, you spend way too much time on here.

    Hitler is dead. There’s nothing you can do about it. So miss him by yourself. You should probably seek help…
    There are lots of people who did VERY bad stuff and ANYBODY who takes it upon themselves to take somebody elses life deserves death in my eyes. Hitler tried to play God as I see it. So don’t defend him please..you don’t know what he was thinking either..even if he believed he had good reason..he was wrong.

    He is dead. he will remain dead whether you think he deserved it or not. Personally..good riddance.

    Here is my view on hitler, he was a good man who fell in love with power and went way to over the top. he was a fucked up guy anyways.. i mean as someone said at the beginning of the comments his dad used to abuse them and his mother died when he was still a teen.
    I don’t think it is anyones place to be hating the person who wrote that they miss him. I’m sure that you have secrets that are even more fucked up than anything on this website, so if you’re just gunna be rude to people and make them feel like shit about the secrets that they put up then no disrespect but you should just fuck off and not comment.
    My great-grandad was apparently thought to be a jew in germany during the time of hitlers power. he survived, and started a new family here in england where i live now. the reason im saying this is because actualy it always amazed me about him that he never had a bad word to say about hitler.
    he respected him, even though technically his orders almost got him killed!
    he always believed that it was the soldiers who did the killing that should be hated, as they did it in the most disgusting heart reching way.
    someone started talking about films such as the pianoist, again that emphasises the fact at how sick the soldiers were when they killed all of the jews in germany, however the main thing that hitler did was fall far to in love with power and himself, they soldiers didnt have to follow hitlers commands. no matter who is in power no matter where in the world, humans still have the right to say no!
    I get really pissed off when people say shit about other peoples secrets, because if it was them that wrote something they would get really upset.
    some people are just way to fucking stuck up their own arses and read to many fucking text books to have thier own view on history. and not being funny, but ermmm what kinda life you must have bores me just thinking about it!
    get some friends, go out on a piss up
    and have some fun!
    stop bitching about other peoples secrets fucked up or not fucked up
    Xx

    @ElyisiaGharlie, I agree with everything you’ve said but tell me one thing, is it fair to hate the soldiers who are following orders rather than the leaders who ordered them? I’m a Pakistani Muslim, and while I don’t necessarily believe in the “Arab unity” that most “Muslims” like to disillusion themselves with (I like the thought, but practically it doesnt exist) I still empathize with the civilian victims of Iraq and Afghanistan. But for that I can’t hate US soldiers (not all anyway) who’ve probably gone through their share of suffering, but US politicians. It’s really easy to play with someone’s passions (in their case, patriotism) and convince them they’re fighting the “enemy” and any level of violence they use on them is justified.
    Similarly, until this year my country was under a decade of military dictatorship. But that has resulted in me hating the opportunist army generals who were in power, not soldiers at the lower level.

    i’m really hoping that you don’t actually mean that you miss hitler… but if you do, that’s totally fine, creepy, but fine. and as long as you don’t have any actual plans to find his body and pull a dr. frankenstein, i’m okay with this.

    Syora

    Has it occured to anyone at all that this secret could be nothing to do with the real Hitler? It could very easily be meaning he/she misses somebody that was abusive and hateful towards them (such as a father or an ex) and this is just showing that although they saw them as evil they loved them anyway.

    Hitler was a genius, he said the rights things and knew how to persuade people to believe the jews were evil. But his methods were sick and pure evil.
    The whole regime consisted of conformity and obidience. do you really think the SS soldiers were going to disobey and get themselves killed/tortured? no. because Hitler scared everyone with his ways!
    everyone conformed to the social norm, otherwise they had a price to pay.
    this is a hard arguement, everyone knows hitler was a bad person, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t a genius.. he was clearly messed up fromt he start!

    everyone has their own views, so respect them!

    Sorrow

    I just wish he wasn’t fighting in WW1, the mustard gas never would have gotten to him. He could have been a normal and great politician.
    The atrocities of WWII greatly disturb me. Yet somehow, I find Hitler, to be a tragic person, who got the wrong ideas into his head.

    hitler was a prick and anyone who worships, misses, loved or worked for him deserves to be were he is now… and we all know where that was (Y)

    Okay. whoever thinks hitler is not responsible for killing all those jews or who thinks he is an “ok” guy is dumb as fuck. Hitler may not have personally shot and killed all those jews but he had abused his power and influence on Germany’s society to do evil acts. There are a lot of people who have been abused or have had horrible childhoods but you don’t see them lashing out and killing millions of people so that gave Hitler no excuse and anyone who gives him one is clearly disturbed. Its none of anyones buisness to judge whether it is good or bad to miss hitler however i bet if you lived through that time and lived in an internmant camp you would probably hate him too.

    @Ichor. Thanks :) My american history is pretty bad. I’m a New Zealander myself and due to my lack of respect for americans i never cared enough to pay attention to the tv over the past 8 years of murder in Iraq. Even at my job I have never meet an American who didn’t either demand, moan, look down on me, speak rudely to me/loudly or over top of me. I dont like to put an entire country into one label but I have been working there for 2 years and my beliefs of americans is yet to changed.

    I realise he wass’t always paranoid…it was in the last bit of his ruling where he began killing those closest to him due to his paranoia. I wish he was alive to be honest because I think his mind would be absolutely fasinating to study, to see how much childhood abuse effected him and whether he had a mental illness that could why he commanded things that led to such loss.

    And that makes sense now. Feel like an idiot! Of course! There was all that happening at the same time. It makes sense why no one tried to stop it. I don’t know though. I still feel like there should have been SOMEBODY in the world who should have stood up for that!

    Urg. Stupid people should stop leaving stupid comments and learn a little bit more about history. The grey area comment comes into this again. Leaving comments about how we are all sick for educating people that there was more to Hitler and wars then what they they are to naive to realise.

    to Ichor.
    about your post that begins with: Warnings

    - all those achievements could only be made on costs of the underdog. I get your point when you’re saying that you should look at things objectively, but it MUST be all in the frame of human rights, fairness and non-violence.

    And since when does a republic exclude democracy?????????????

    Hitler was “good for his country?” :D
    Hitler, at the end of WWII, said that Germany didn’t deserve to have a good life because they didn’t fight good enough to win the war.

    As the nuclear bombs. Do you think America would throw them around, now or then, to “be good to it’s people”? Sorry. That’s naivety.
    It’s not about the country. Well not about the people who live in it. It’s about money/power/influence.

    What could you possibly miss about Hitler?
    Seriously, if you miss him there are dictators and people who commit genocide around today as well. Just go find one of those. Chances are they’ll have better hair and all as well.
    Just saying…
    Still.. can’t fathom what on earth you’d miss (or how you can miss something I rather think you haven’t experienced – Unless you’re older than the majority of people on this site)

  •
    rebekka

    I understand it.
    The man was a genius, just a twisted one. I don’t see how someone could actually miss him, but I get the concept.
    I don’t think the blame for WWII lies exclusively with him.
    Sure, the idea that the Jews were the one to blame started with him, but it would have never progressed if it had not been for other people kindling the flame.
    Germany was just a lost country looking for someone to blame for their misfortune, and it’s a shame that minorities got hit as they did.
    When people say that ‘Hitler killed a bunch of people for NO REASON and he is EVIL!!’ It’s just pointless babble, you should really do your research before you say something like that. He wasn’t really evil, just mad with power.
    And sure, he did go a bit psycho at the end, but it just made him more legendary.

    I think everyone who wants to say anything about the Jews in WWII needs to read a good book.
    For Those I Love is a great example, I’d recommend it to anyone.
