As someone with a disability myself, I know exactly how this feels. My father seems to think I owe him some huge debt of gratitude for raising when he ’should have put me in care’. It’s just… no. You made it, you look after it, regardless. And you don’t tell people what a hard life YOU’VE had without consideration for how your shit affects your kids. I feel for you, I really do.

It isn’t, really.
It’s chemical reactions at the end of the day. Doesn’t make it any less special, to know that though, if you think about it. To know that people can cause that kind of biological reaction within you, for whatever purpose… it’s incredible from a scientific point of view.
It’s society’s view of it that makes it into this big romantic notion, so what? Various branches of academics look at everything from different perspectives, and just ’cause it’s not ’real’ doesn’t make it any less valid.
